Miochol®-E (acetylcholine chloride intraocular solution)

|

|

Miochol-E is an intraocular solution that causes rapid contraction (miosis) of the iris. Your doctor may put it in your eyes during certain types of eye surgery, such as cataract surgery, corneal transplant surgery (penetrating keratoplasty), or surgery performed on the iris (iridectomy).
Miochol-E is available only by prescription.
Usage
An eye care professional should prepare and administer Miochol-E. The drug is packaged in a vial that contains two separate chambers (upper and lower). The eye care professional will reconstitute the drug immediately before use. After the drug is prepared, the eye care professional will draw up all of the solution into a dry, sterile syringe and gently administer the solution into your eye.
